Standing,
not waiting.

Vol. 01, Look 02 — The Olive Agbada, embroidered. On the arrival a garment can carry. The robe is full, the cloth is quiet — a soft architecture for a man already in the room.

LOOK 02 · The Olive Agbada · Shot at home. Lagos.
§ THE FEATURE · 001

At ease, not arrived.

The agbada was made to be worn standing. The drape begins at the shoulder and finds the floor on its own time. Worn well, it does not so much clothe a man as agree with him — a soft architecture that adjusts to a body, a room, an hour. JOMIKUTO returns to the agbada in a shade of green that does not declare itself: the color of dry grass at the end of a long afternoon.

The chest panel is hand-embroidered in chartreuse cord — a geometric pattern that traces from the collar, breaks across the heart, and resolves at the sternum. It is not decoration. It is provenance. Each motif is a borrowed line from older textiles, redrawn at a scale a younger man can carry. The fila above is gold and teal, set slightly off-center; the trousers below are the same green, pressed soft. The Weejuns are dark, deliberate, quiet.

He is photographed at home, beneath a gold sun. He is not arriving. He has arrived. The gaze is steady, the agbada quiet — the small report of a man who is already where he was supposed to be.

§ STYLING NOTES · LOOK 02

Six choices, made softly. Nothing is loud, and nothing is anxious. A JOMIKUTO look is read the way a good room is read — by the time you notice it, you are already inside.

  1. 01
    FILA

Gold-on-teal hand-loomed weave. Worn slightly off-center — the small refusal that signals the room knows him.

  2. 02
    AGBADA

A three-piece in soft olive. The outer robe drapes from shoulder to floor; the inner tunic carries the embroidery; the trousers, pressed soft, finish at the ankle.

  3. 03
    EMBROIDERY

Chartreuse cord, hand-laid in a geometric panel across the chest. Borrowed from older textiles, redrawn for a younger man.

  4. 04
    EYEWEAR

Aviators in a warm metal. The frame the agbada was waiting for — neither modern nor archival, simply correct.

  5. 05
    FOOTWEAR

G.H. Bass Weejuns in black. The ground note — quiet, sure, holding everything above it in place.

  6. 06
    HANDS

Clasped, not folded. The small, settled gesture of a man who has nowhere to be but here.

Redefining elegance,
one stitch at a time.
